kleurrijke ZIA's met Gelly Rolls / colourfull ZIAs with Gelly Roll

Tsja, bij het aanvullen van mijn blog kom ik nog een stukje bericht tegen wat nog afgemaakt moest worden: bij deze!

Well, during filling my blog with recent material I found something what had to be finished once: Here it is!

In de kerstvakantie van 2013 heb ik een set van 64 Gelly Rolls van Sakura besteld en binnen gekregen. Die moest ik natuurlijk uitproberen!

Wat erin zit: Klassieke gelpennen, Metallic, Moonlight, Stardust en Zilver en Goud-schaduw kleur pennen. Op wit en op zwart papier heb ik de kleuren verdeeld in een kleurencirkel (eh, ongeveer cirkel ;-) ). Helaas heb ik geen blacklight bij de hand, anders had je nog kunnen zien dat enkele van de Moonlight gelpennen oplichten als je het daarmee beschijnt. In the Christmas holidays of 2013 I ordered a set of 64 Sakura Gelly Rolls. I had to try these when they arrived!

What's inside: Classic Gelpens, Metallic, Moonlight, Stardust and Silver and Gold Shadow colour gel pens. On white and black paper I divided the colours in the colourwheel (eh, sort of circle ;-) ). Unfortunately I don't have a blacklight, otherwise I could have shown you that some of the Moonlight Gelpens gave their own shine as a reaction to that. 

Daarna lekker zitten combineren met mijn Spectrum Noir alcoholmarkers op een aquarel tekenblok (A3). Ik heb de markers verdeeld in blauwe tinten en rode tinten en maakte daarvan 2 'vlekken'. Daarna heerlijk uitgeprobeerd met soortgelijke tinten in Gelly Rolls. Na een middagje tekenen zo was ik weer heeerlijk ontspannen en mijn koppijn wat gezakt.

After this I combined my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers with it on aquarel drawing paper (A3). I divided the markers in blue hues and red hues and made with these 2 'spots'. Then I tried the same hues of the Gelly Rolls on it. After this afternoon filled with drawing I was relaaaxed and my headache had become less.

Heh dat was lekker tanglen toen. Love that tangling effect.

kleurige uitprobeersels / colourful try-outs

Op het ART Specially Stempel Event 2014 hadden we dit jaar als buren de dames en een enkele heer van KiCoStamps (http://www.kicostamps.nl). On the ART Specially Stamp Event 2014 we had ladies and a single gentleman of KiCo Stamps (http://www.kicostamps.nl) as our neighbour.

Marja Visser, lid van het Designteam van KiCoStamps (zie http://kicostamps.blogspot.nl/search/label/Art%20Quest%20Cement) gaf op de Stempelbeurs 2014 van Art Specially op 5 en 6 april vele malen een make & take met Art Quest Cement. Dit "Cement" is een soort rubberfoam-PASTA wat je door een sjabloon op een vel kunt smeren. Als je het dan laat drogen (met een föhn) zwelt het Cement op en krijg je dus een 3D effect in de vorm van het plaatje van het sjabloon. Dit werd daarna met Glimmermist (kleurspray) besproeit waardoor er mooie kleurige kaarten als resultaat ontstonden. Deze kleurspray werd óf vóór het Cement óf na het Cement op de kaart gedaan, dus het figuur van het sjabloon komt dan mooi naar voren in het wit of juist in kleuren. Marja Visser, member of the design team of KiCoStamps (see http://kicostamps.blogspot.nl/search/label/Art%20Quest%20Cement ) taught how to use Art Quest Cement with Make & Takes. This "cement" is a kind of rubber foam PASTE which you can smear on a piece of paper with the use of a stencil. If you let it dry (with the use of a warm airblower) the Cement will swell and you'll get a 3D effect with the shape of the picture of the stencil. This was sprayed with Glimmermist (colour spray) before or after with a colourfull result. The Cement picture popped out nicely white (sprayed before) or in colours (sprayed after).

Er bleven veel proefstukjes over van de Make&Take en ik heb vriendelijk gevraagd of ik een (flink) aantal van die kaartjes mocht gebruiken om er op te tanglen. Dit mocht, ik blij, want het zijn hele mooie kaarten! Hieronder 6 van die kaartjes die ik tot nu toe met Sakura's Microns en Gelly Roll gelpennen heb betekend en beschaduwd met kleurpotlood, Zenstone (Zentangle.com) en wit krijtpotlood. Many demo pieces were left of this Make&Take and I asked (very politely) if I could use those to try and tangle them. I was allowd, happy me, because they look very lovely without tangles). Underneath you'll find 6 of those cards I tangled so far with Sakura Microns and Gelly Roll gelpens and shaded with colour pencils, Zenstone (Zentangle.com) and white charcoil pencil.


De eerste kaart die ik uitprobeerde, met alleen de Glimmermist, was deze: Ik begon op de beurs met mijn Sakura Micron 01 Squid te tanglen (de kaviaar-achtige bolletjes met inktvis-tentakels). Dit om mijzelf en Marja te laten zien of highlights met de Zenstone en de charcoil potlood gemaakt kon worden. Dit lukte! Thuis ben ik verder gaan proberen met Gelly Rolls van verschillende soorten (Moonlight, Metallic) maar ook met verschillende Microns (zoals de sepia en de bruin, naast groen en paars). Ik heb deze kaart organisch getekend, dit wil zeggen: van het één kwam het ander, zonder plan en zonder strings. Lekker Zen :-). The first card I tried, with only Glimmermist, was this one: I started on the Stamp Event with my Sakura Micron 01 tangling Squid (the caviar like spheres with octopus (squid)- like tentacles. This to show myself and Marja if highlights with the Zenstone and charcoil pencils would work. It did! At home I went on trying Gelly Rolls of different kinds (Moonlight, Metallic) but also with my Microns (like the sepia, brown, next to the green and purple). I drew this card organicly, this means: from one pattern grew another, with no plan and no strings. Enjoying the Zen :-).


Na deze kwam de pijltjeskaart: de witte pijlen met halve cirkels erin heb ik getangled met een combinatie van Aroz en Schway.
Daarna de groene kaart die 'water'achtig ge'cement' en getangled is, de 'rommelige' kaart getekend met verschilende patronen en verschillende pennen. Daarna de paars/roze-kaart met golfjes en cirkels in cement. Als laatste tanglede ik met vooral veel gebruik van mijn sepia en bruine Micron en rood en roze Gelly Rolls een soort van rozet met linten. Klik op de plaatjes om de foto's vergroot te kunnen zien.
Then I did the arrows card: the white arrows with half cirkels in it I tangled with a combination of Aroz and Schway.
After this came the green with 'waterish' 'cemented' and tangled card, then the a-bit-'messy' card with several patterns and various Sakura pens. As fifth the purple/pink card with waves and circles in cement. The last one tangled was with much use of my sepia and brown Micron and red and pink Gelly Rolls: a kind of roset with bindings. Ik vond het heel leuk om dit eens uit te proberen. Ik heb nog meer kaarten liggen, dus ik kan nog ff door. Wie weet zie je het later nog eens terug op deze blog.

stap-voor-stap ATC-swap / step-by-step ATC swap

Op de internet swap-groep op http://www.swap-bot.com had ik me aangemeld voor de Dutch Zentangle Swappers-swap van de maand mei. Een swap is - in dit geval - een ruil van ge-tangled werk via de post. Aangezien er een grotere groep dan 2 personen is, trekt 'de computer' uit de groep een adres waar ik mijn werk naar toe mocht sturen en een ander stuurt dan zijn / haar werk naar mij. Die ander is niet dezelfde als waar ik mijn werk naar toe mocht sturen.

On the internet swap group on http://www.swap-bot.com I joined the May swap of the Dutch Zentangle Swappers swap. A swap is - in this case- exchanging tangled work through (snail-) mail. Because the group is bigger than 2 persons, a computer chooses an address to which I have to send my work to and someone else sends me his or her work. The other is not the same person I send my work to.

De Dutch Zentangle Swappers, of ook wel DZS, is opgezet door Jacqueline Janssen. De site swap-bot is, hoe kan het anders, Amerikaans en ondertussen internationaal in gebruik. Je kunt dus zelfs wereldwijd swappen. Jacqueline wilde een Nederlandse groep en heeft die aldaar aangemaakt. The Dutch Zentangle Swapper, or also DZS, is founded by Jacqueline Janssen. The site swap-bot is, how can it be elseway, American and has grown to be used internationally. You can swap world wide now. Jacqueline wanted a Dutch group so she started one on swap-bot.

Iedere maand zet 'poppentje', zoals haar bijnaam luidt, een nieuwe ruil op de site als uitdaging. Je meldt je daar aan en krijgt na een week een adres toegewezen waar je binnen 3 á 4 weken het werk naar toe gestuurd moet hebben. De opdrachten variëren in grootte: de ene keer is het ter grootte van een Zentangle-tegel (3,5 inch bij 3,5 inch = 8,9 bij 8,9 cm), de andere keer 15 bij 15 cm of briefkaart-formaat en deze keer dus ATC-formaat. Every month 'poppentje', as is her nickname, starts a new swap on the site as a challenge. You can say you want to join and after a week you'll recieve a address to which you'll have to send your work too within 3 to 4 weeks. The challenges vary in size: one time it is Zentangle tile-sized (3.5 x 3.5 inch = 8.9 x 8.9 cms), the next time it is 15 x 15 cms (almost 6 inches) or postcard sized and this time ATC-size.

Wat is een ATC? What's an ATC?

Een ARTIST TRADING CARD (ATC) is een miniatuur kunstwerkje van (2,5 inch bij 3,5 inch) ongeveer 63 x 89 mm groot.^[1] Deze grootte komt overeen met de moderne baseball verzamelkaart in Amerika. De beweging ontstond in Zwitserland met de mail art. Er worden verschillende materialen gebruikt, zoals penselen, pennen, markeerstiften. Ook waterverf en acrylverf worden gebruikt. Uitzonderlijk worden er collages of werken uit papier gemaakt. Op de achterkant staat vaak de datum, de naam van de artiest en eventueel de materialen en technieken die gebruikt werden.

De Zwitserse kunstenaar M. Vänci Stirneman bedacht de ATC in 1996. Hij had 1200 kaartjes gemaakt en tentoongesteld. Op het einde van de tentoonstelling mocht iedereen een kaartje mee naar huis nemen, als ze tenminste een eigen gemaakt kaartje in ruil gaven.

Omdat ik heel moeilijk afscheid kan nemen van gemaakt werk, maak ik voor een ATC-opdracht gewoon een hele serie kaartjes. Dit doe ik op aquarel-papier-blok van 18 bij 25 cm. Hier kunnen dan 8 ATC-kaartjes uit. Kan ik de andere kaartjes ook ooit inzetten voor het uitruilen met ATC's van anderen ;-) . Because I find it very hard to say goodbye to work I made, I just make for an ATC-challenge a series of cards. I make these on a simple aquarel paper set of 18 by 25 cms (about 7 by 10 inch). I cut this up to 8 ATCs. So I can use the other cards for exhanging with ATCs of others ;-)

De opdracht luidde: The challenge was:

ATC 1: Kleur: overwegend roodtinten colour: use hues of red

Kenmerken characteristics: gebruik alleen de only use the tangles INAPOD en PANTHE

ATC 2: Kleur: overwegend blauwtinten colour: use hues of blue

Zentangle patronen hebben elk een eigen naam, die degene die het verzonnen heeft ook zelf eraan mag geven. De kenmerken van een Zentangle patroon, dus een tangle, zijn:

- het is niet herkenbaar als een levend of levenloos voorwerp (uchum, toch worden vele tangles nagemaakt van herkenbare dingen)

- een tangle wordt beschreven in maximaal 6 stappen, maar liefst minder. Des te minder stappen, des te beter het 'meditatief' (Zen) werkt.

- het kan alle richtingen op getekend worden, net als een Zentangle tegel. Er is geen boven of onder.
Zentangle patterns all have their own name from the one who made it up. The characteristics of a Zentangle pattern, so a Tangle, are:
- it is not recognisable as a living of non lively thing (ahem, still there are tangles copied from recognisable things)
- a tangle is explained in steps at most 6, but rather less. The less steps it has, the more it's 'meditative' (Zen) when you use it.
- it can be drawn in any direction, just like a Zentangle tile. There is no up or down.

Voor deze swap heb ik eerst de letters D Z en S in een Gothische stijl getekend (naar een voorbeeld die ik zo'n 30 jaar geleden voor het eerst in mijn schoolagenda getekend had) met een 2B-potlood. Daarna heb ik voor elk kaartje een eigen kader gemaakt, die achter de letters langs liep, ook in potloodlijnen. For this swap I first drew the letters D Z and S in a Gothic style (like I did about 30 yrs ago in my school diary) with a 2B pencil. Then I drew for each ATC card their own border, which went behind the letters, also with pencil.

Voor de 4 kaartjes aan de linkerkant gebruikte ik voornamelijk de tangles van ATC 1 en voor de de 4 aan de rechterkant die van ATC 2, net als de kleuren. De meeste tangles heb ik als eerste met mijn zwarte fineliner Sakura Pigma Micron 01 getekend.

Hieronder zie je de stappen waarin ik de ATC's gemaakt heb. Het rood heb ik extra ingevuld met Spectrum Noir alcoholmarkers. Als laatste stappen heb ik met aquarel-potloden de schaduwen gemaakt en highlights gemaakt met een witte Gelly Roll (Sakura). For the 4 cards on the left I used the tangles of ATC 1 and for the 4 on the rights I used the ones for ATC 2, just like the colours - most of it that is. Most of the tangles I drew first with my black Sakura Pigma Micron 01 fineliner. Underneath you see the steps in which I build up the ATCs. The red I filled extra with my Spectrum Noir alcohol marker For the last part I made shades with my red, blue and purple aquarel pencils and some highlights with a white Gelly Roll (Sakura).

Ik heb hier weer met plezier aan gewerkt. I enjoyed working on this challenge again.

het begin van 2014 / start of 2014

Pfoei, wat was dat weer een ander begin dit nieuwe jaar: Vlak voor de Kerstvakantie voelde ik het al aankomen: de Winterdepressie. Direct aan de bel gehangen voor lichttherapie die mij was toegezegd, helaas geen reactie gekregen. In de vakantie ging het redelijk goed op een enkel griepje na - zie ander blogbericht. Pfew, that was a totally different start of this new year: Just before our Christmas holidays I felt it was coming nearer: the Winterdepression. I instantly called for the light therapy which they said I could do. Unfortunately I didn't get any reaction. The holidays went by with not so much damage except for a flu - see different blog posting.

De eerste werkdagen na de vakantie zat ik daardoor zo diep in de put, dat ik nergens zin in had, behalve dan in bed liggen en knorrig overal op reageren. Dat is dan ook te zien aan de keuze van de gestempelde vierkante Zendala's die ik in die week maakte bij het slapen gaan. Lekker donkere keuzes.

The first few days after the holidays I sunk into the depth so that I didn't feel like doing anything except for staying in bed and give grumpy reactions of anything. That is to be seen at the choice of the stamped squared Zendalas I made that week before going to sleep. Nice dark choices.

Dat was natuurlijk geen houdbare situatie, dus wederom gebeld voor lichttherapie. Nu kon ik wel terecht. Dus in de tweede en derde week zat ik elke werkdag 's ochtends 30 minuten voor een koud-licht-bak. Ik moest er zo mogelijk elke minuut een aantal keren in kijken. Ik mocht in die tijd dan wel lezen of schrijven óf ... tekenen! Dat werd dus tanglen. I couldn't keep it that way so again I called for light therapy. Now there was room for me. So in the second and third week every working day I was sitting in front of cold light for 30 minutes. I had to watch at it a few times every minute. In the mean while I was allowed to read or write ór ... draw! That was tangling time for me.

Één van de tekeningen die ik getekend heb, was een groter werk van 18 bij 24 cm om te verdelen tot ATC'tjes van bijna 6 tot ongeveer 9 cm (2,5 bij 3,5 inch) groot. Hier heb ik eerste een hele lange string gemaakt en daarna ben ik de vlakken op een organische manier gaan vullen. De ATC's waren een opdracht voor een swap (een ruil) voor de Dutch Zentangle Swappers via www.swapbot.com. De opdracht was een organische tangle te tekenen op ATC formaat en het moest zwart, groen en wit zijn.

One of the drawings I tangled, was a bigger work of 18 by 24 cm to divide it up to ATCs of about 6 by about 9 cm (2.5 by 3.5 inch). On it I made a large string and in the several parts I tangled organicaly. The ATCs were a challenge for a swap for the Dutch Zentangle Swappers through www.swapbot.com. The assignment was to draw an organic tangle on ATC size and it had to be black, green and white.

Hieronder heb ik ge-experimenteerd met bruintinten die ik tijdens die halve uren heb getekend in etappes. Ik heb dit getekend in mijn A6 dummy. In beide heb ik geen kader getekend, maar in die van 20 en 21 januari AH-226 heb ik vanuit de 4 hoekpunten meteen een lijnenspel (string) getekend. AH-227 heb ik met een dubbele potlood (aan elkaar geklemd met een elastiekje) een string getekend en ben ik tussen die dubbele lijnen gaan tanglen. Ik heb de sepia en de bruin van de Sakura Pigma Micron 01 gebruikt én de lichte en donkere bruin van Stabilo fineliners .88. Het schaduwen heb ik gedaan met een HB potlood. At these ZIAs I experimented in parts with browns during the half hours. I made these in my A6 dummy. In both drawings I didn't use a border, but in the tangle of the 20th and 21st January AH-226 I drew a string directly from the 4 dots in the corners. AH-227 I drew a string directly with a double pencil (attached to eachother with rubber band) and tangle in between the lines. I used the sepia and the brown Sakura Pigma Micron 01 ánd the light and dark brown Stabilo fineliner .88. The shading I did with a HB pencil.

Ik vond beide ZIA's zo leuk dat ik ze op foto-papier heb uitgedraaid en ze in witte houten fotolijstjes heb gedaan. Ze staan nu nog steeds (april 2014) op onze dressoir in de woonkamer :-) I liked both ZIAs so much that I scanned them and printed on photo paper and put them in white wooden frames. They are still (April 2014) on our dressoir in our livingroom :-)

Toen ik de dag erna terugkeek, dacht ik dat het misschien wel mooi zou zijn als ik behalve een schaduw in grijs ook met donkerbruin een extra diepte eraan kon geven. En dat werd ook zo. Ik ben hier weer erg blij mee hoe dit gelukt is :-) When I looked back the day after , I thought it would be nice to put an extra shade on it with browns to give it extra depth. And it succeed. I am very happy with how this turned out :-)

In de tussentijd had ik van 'CZT-headquarters' ook de nieuwe Renaissance-tegels binnen gekregen. Die moest ik natuurlijk óók proberen! De tegel is getint, vandaar dat het ook wel een 'tan tile' genoemd wordt. Dit papier komt uit Amerika, net als de zwarte tegels, in plaats van uit Italië zoals de witte tegels. Het is iets dunner en het oppervlakte beschadigd sneller als je er vaker op dezelfde plek overheen tekent. In the meanwhile I got the new Renaissance tiles from 'CZT headquarters'. I had to try them ofcourse. The tile is tan, that's why it is called a 'tan tile'. This paper is coming from America, just like the black tiles, instead of Italy like the white tiles. It is a bit thinner and the surface is a bit more easy to damage if you draw often on the same spot.

Ik heb hier verschillende manieren van tekenen met kleur gebruikt. De tangle Jambalee van Kelley Kelly op de foto bovenaan heb ik met de sepia Micron pen getekend en het donker en lichte schaduwwerk met bruine en witte potloden gekleurd. Dat geeft een mooi en teer effect. De 'Nzeppel rechts onderaan de foto is eerst getekend met ook de donkerbruine sepia Micron pen, maar daarna ingekleurd met de sepia en de bruine Micron én een witte gelpen van Sakura. Dit vette effect is ook errug mooi op de nieuwe tegels. In de Oof links om de lege lus heen heb ik beide soorten van kleuren gecombineerd: de bollen heb ik met kleurpotlood ingekleurd en de stervormige vierkanten met de bruine Micron 01.

Leuk om dit als combi zo te zien. I used different ways of drawing with colours here. The tangle Jambalee of Kelley Kelly on the picture on top I drew with a sepia Micron pen and made the shades with brown and white pencils. This makes a very subtle tone. The 'Nzeppel right on the bottom I drew first with sepia Micron, but after that I filled the shapes with the sepia and the brown Micron ánd a white gel pen of Sakura. This bold effect is beautiful too on this new tile. In the Oof on the left around the empty space I used both ways of colouring: the bulbs I coloured with colour pencils and the star shaped squares with the brown Micron 01. Fun to see how this worked out as a combo.

oh ja, dit is ook weer een stempelafdruk van de 'vloerfoto' - een oranje papier deze keer. Met heel veel verschillende Sakura pennen en fineliners, ook Stabilo.

Stempelen met Zentangle / Stamps with Zentangle

In de kerstvakantie wilde ik met 2 van onze kinderen weer eens stempelen. Ik nam 'natuurlijk' de stempels van http://elefantangle.blogspot.nl/2013/03/stempel-stappen-stamps-steps-2.html erbij. Naast op wit papier te stempelen bedacht ik me dat het vast ook wel een apart effect zou zijn als ik op gekleurd papier zou werken. Zo gezegd, zo gedaan. Dit werden vrolijke prints. Op de foto zie je al het gestempelde materiaal naast elkaar gelegd op onze vloer.

In the Christmas hollidays I wanted to stamp with 2 of our kids. Of course I took the stamps of  http://elefantangle.blogspot.nl/2013/03/stempel-stappen-stamps-steps-2.html for this. Next to making prints on white paper I thought it would be a nice effect when I use the stamps on coloured paper. And I did. These became happy coloured prints. In the picture you see them laying next to each other on the floor spreaded.

Naast het stempelen met de Big&Juicy en een ander merk kleurige stempelkussens, met zwarte en bruine watervaste inkt, bedacht ik me dat ik de stempels ook vast wel in kon kleuren met een viltstift. Dit werden mijn Spectrum Noir alcoholmarkers. Zo kon ik ook meerkleuren-afdrukken maken :-) én delen wit laten. Next to stamping using my Big&Juicy, some other brand with different colour stamp pads, my waterproof brown and black stamp pads, I thought it would be nice too if I coloured the stamps with feltpens. Instead of felt pens I took my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. So I could make Multi coloured prints too :-) ánd leave parts white.

Het is ondertussen een week geleden dat we gestempeld hebben en ik heb ondertussen 2 afdrukken ingekleurd en getangled. Hiervoor heb ik mijn nieuwe uitgebreide set Gelly Roll gelpennen van Sakura voor gebruikt. Wat een diverse set pennen is dat! Met en zonder glitter, maan'bleke' kleuren, Metallic en ook gouden en zilveren gelpennen met een gekleurde rand. Deze laatste worden "Schaduw" gelpennen genoemd. Vergroot de foto hier rechts door erop te klikken. Ik hoop dat ook dit laatste zichtbaar zal zijn. It is a week ago since we stamped and I tangled and coloured now 2 prints. For this I used my extended set of Gelly Roll gelpens of Sakura.. What a diversity it has! With and without sparkles, pale Moonlight colours, Metallic and also golden and silver gelpens with a coloured edge. These last ones are called 'Shadow' pens. Enlarge the picture with the pens. I hope the last ones I mentioned are to be seen.

Ik koos eerst voor een zalmkleurig blad met een stempelafdruk. Op de vloerfoto midden boven. Eerst tanglede ik Atorm met de bruine Micron 005. Daarna Bumps met roze en oranje Micron 01. Daarna tekende ik met de sepia Micron 01 de tangle Beads. De Bumps heb ik verder ingekleurd met roze en oranje kleurpotloden van Bruynzeel. De Beadlines in het midden heb ik in vakjes om en om ingekleurd met een huidskleurige kleurpotlood en aan weerszijden van de Beadlines lijnen heb ik met bruine kleurpotlood en witte krijtpotlood een schaduwrand en highlight te geven. First I  chose a salmon coloured page with a stamp print. On the 'floor' picture found top middle. First I tangled Atorm with the Brown Micron 005. After that I tangled Bumps with pink and orange Micron 01. Last came Beadlines with the sepia Micron 01. The Bumps I coloured with pink and orange colourpencils of Bruynzeel. The Beads I coloured on both sides of the lines of Beadlines with brown on one side and white on the other side of the line. Brown for the shade and white for a highlight.

De tweede stempelafdruk die ik koos, was het blauwe blad met zwarte stempelafdruk. Ik had knallende koppijn door een lichte vorm van voorhoofdsontsteking. Ik begon met de witte klassieke gelpen van Gelly Roll en een bleke groen van Sakura's Gelly Roll Moonlight. Kelley Kelly had een nieuw patroon Batumber ontwikkeld en die wilde ik wel uitproberen. Ik begon het patroon met de witte en de vormen die het patroon vulde deed ik met de bleek-groene. The second print I chose, was the bright blue paper with black ink-print. I was suffering from a severe headache because of a minor forehead cavity inflammation. I started with a white Classic Gelly Roll and the pale green Moonlight Gelly Roll of Sakura. Kelley Kelly developed a new tangle called Batumber and I wanted to try that. I started the pattern with white bonds and filled it with pale green oval shapes.

De volgende dag ging ik verder en pakte de zwarte Metallic en maakte het patroon Bellaposa uit het boek "Yoga for the Brain" van Sandy Steen Bartholomew Steen - veruit mijn favoriete tangle boek (!!!) - in de overgebleven langwerpige vakjes. De buitenste lege vakjes vulde ik met delen van hetzelfde patroon. De banden van Batumber lichtte ik op met het witte krijtpotlood en de vullingen kleurde ik in met een donkergroen potlood van Bruynzeel. Op de foto links zie je de patronen niet zo best, maar op de scan rechts zijn alle patronen heel goed te zien.

Next day I went on an took my black Metallic Gelly Roll and in the stretched spaces I  made the tangle Bellaposa from Sandy Steen Bartholomers's Yoga for the Brain - my favourite tangle book (!!!). The remaining areas on the outside  filled with parts of the same pattern. The bonds of Batumber I made it lighter with my white charcoal pencil and the Batumber oval shapes I darkened with a dark green pencil of Bruynzeel. On the picture at the left side you cannot see the tangles that good, you can see them better on the scan on the right side.



Mijn hoofdpijn is de loop van de dagen gezakt, mijn verhoging zakt langzaam. Als ik door mag tekenen, zal ook dat vast wel beter gaan worden. My headache is getting less severe now in the couple of days, my temperature is slowly getting more to normal. As long I can draw the next few days, that'll  get better too.
