Spectrum Noir alcohol markers

Kleuren met alcohol markers is echt andere koek dan tanglen. Om te beginnen is het zeer praktisch enkele tips van de Spectrum Noir-site http://spectrumnoir.com te bekijken. Die tips zijn filmpjes van ca 8 tot 10 minuten waarin je een bepaalde kleurtechniek uitgelegd krijgt.
To colour with alchol markers is definitely quite different than tanling. To start it is wise to check the tips from the Spectrum Noir site http://spectrumnoir.com and view the videos. The tips are films of about 8 to 10 minutes which explains and shows a certain colouring technique.
Tot nu toe had ik de kleuren altijd 'gewoon' naast elkaar gebruikt, zoals ik met gewone viltstiften altijd kleurplaten inkleurde. Maar met de Spectrum Noir markers kun je nog veel meer doen dan eenvoudig kleuren!
So far I used the colours in an orinary manner, putting them next to eachother like I used to with ordinary felt pens colouring templates. But with the Spectrum Noir markers you can do a lot more than simply colouring.

Een aantal dingen zijn handig om te weten van de Spectrum Noir markers:
- ze zijn niet uitwasbaar, dus watervast en te gebruiken op heeeeeel veel verschillende materialen. Wel is het op glad materiaal te verwijderen met alcohol.
- ze zijn in 3 tot 11 tinten per kleur(-groep)
- er zijn 28 (!!) kleurgroepen, waarvan 4 grijzen, 3 bruinen, 5 met groenen, 4 met blauwen, 2 paarsen, 2 roze, 2 oranjes en 2 soorten met roden. En dan ben ik de 2 groepen met gelen vergeten. Degenen die meetellen missen nu alleen nog de zwarte en de kleurloze blender.
- de markers hebben een kogelpunt (voor de fijne lijnen) en een chisel punt (dit is een schuine blokvorm).
- de punten zijn ook te vervangen door een kwast-achtige vorm punt, de brush, vanaf de nieuwste generatie markers.
- dat je 3 keer over dezelfde plaats moeten kleuren om een verzadigde kleur te krijgen (vooral bij dikker papier). Dit is een egale kleur waarbij je niet meer ziet waar je met de 'viltstift' de strepen hebt gezet.
 A few things come to mind using the Spectrum Noir markers:
- they are not washable and usable on many different materials. Though on very smooth surfaces removable with alcohol.
- they come in 3 up to 11 hues per colour (group)
- there are 28 (!!) colour groups, of which there are 4 kinds of grays, 3 browns, 5 with greens, 4 blues, 2 purples/violets, 2 pinks, 2 oranges and 2 kinds of reds. And then I forgot the 2 with yellows For anyone who is counting along, we now only miss the black and the colourless blender.
- the markers have double ends: one bullet nib (for fine lines) and a chisel nib.
- the nibs you replace with a brush nib, from the new 'next generation' markers.
- you have to colour a part 3 times to get a saturated colour (especially with thicker paper). This saturation gives a uniform colouring without seeing any stripes / streaks. 


Op dit moment heb ik alleen de volgende kleuren in mijn bezit: Een serie van 24 Brights en sets van 6 IJsgrijzen, Warmgrijzen, 6 Bruinen en de blanco blender. Voor mijn eigen overzicht heb ik mijn markers gebruikt om een blanco kleurenkaart in te vullen.

At this moment I only have the following colours in my possession: A series of 24 Brights and sets of 6 Ice Grays, Warm Grays, 6 Browns and the colourless blender. For my own use I filled a blank marker overview with my colours. This blank colourchart you can download at 'downloads' on the Spectrum Noir site.

Degenen die me kennen weten dat ik met zoveel kleurtjes en een lading tips, flink aan het onderzoeken wil slaan. The persons who know me by now willl know that with this load of colours and tips, I will go and investigate.

Naast het kleuren van verzadigde kleuren was de eerste techniek het kleuren van een overloop van verschillende markers uit éénzelfde kleurgroep, zodat het vloeiend van de ene kleur overloopt in de andere tint. Voor deze en de volgende technieken moet je altijd 'nat-op-nat'werken. Dit betekent dat je direct achterelkaar de verschillende kleuren over elkaar moet tekenen. Dit maakt dat de menging het mooist wordt met deze markers. Ook het maken van een lichtplek de zgn highlight werd belicht ;-) . Next to colour saturated colours the first technique was to colour with different hues of the same colour group to get a blend from light to dark. For this and the next techniques it is best to work 'wet on wet'. With this they mean to colour directly one colour over another colour. This makes the blending best. Also making a hightlight was explained

Voor de tweede techniek heb ik een 'haren'- filmpje bekeken: steile haren en krullen inkleuren. Alleen het kleuren van lange golvende haren is nog wel wat lastiger. Ik gebruikte voor de haren verschillende kleuren bruin uit mijn 'browns' set.
De volgende stap was de huid. Helaas heb ik (nog) geen pastel- en huidkleur-markers dus ik heb met de allerlichtste kleur van de bruin-grijzen gekleurd.
The second technique was about colouring hair: straight hair and curly hair. Only colouring curly long hair is quite an challenge I used different hues of brown from the set of Browns. The next step was the skin. Unfortunately I do not have (yet) the pastel and skintone markers so I coloured with the lightest hues of the brown (warm) grays.

Een derde techniek was het tekenen van een ronding door gebruik van verschillende kleurgroepen op een 'plat' getekende plantenpot.
Hierna volgde het tekenen van lagen die door het kleurgebruik dichterbij en verder weg lijken. Dit deed ik in de (snel getekende) vlinder. A third technique was making something looking curved (3D) by using colours of different colourgroups on a 'flat' (2D) drawned pot. After this followed drawing layering which are made by using colours, making it look like nearer and further away. For this one I drew quite quickly a butterfly.
Met de libelle heb ik het kleuren met een palet geprobeerd. Je kleurt de donkere tinten van de te gebruiken marker-serie op een zeer glad plastic ondergrond (zoals overhead sheets). Met de lichtere kleur neem je de iets donkere kleur op op de punt en kleurt de donkere kleur met de lichte marker op het papier verder uit. Het eerste deel is dus donker en het wordt vanzelf lichter naar de eigen kleur van de marker. Dit heb ik met de groenen uitgeprobeerd en met de rozen.
With the dragonfly I tried colouring with a palet. You put the darkers hues on a very smooth piece of plastic (like a sheet). With a lighter hue you pick up the darker hue from the sheet and colour the darker hue on the paper which automatically will fade to the lighter colour from the marker. This I tried with the greens and the pinks.

Na deze testen heb ik een andere eigenschap van de markers uitgeprobeerd op mijn grote goedkope aquarelblok (220 gr/m2). De basis van de markers is het oplosmiddel alcohol. In elke kleurgroep zitten verschillende tinten. Elke marker heeft een lettercode gevolgd door een nummer (1 tot en met 11 maximaal). Hoe hoger het nummer hoe donker de tint én hoe minder alcohol erin zit. De lagere nummers in elke groep bevatten dus meer alcohol. De blender is kleurloos dus daar zit alleen maar alcoholoplossing in. After these tests I tried another characteristic of the markers on my cheap and big aquarel paperblock (220 grams). The base of the markers is containing the solution alcohol. In each colourgroup there are several hues. Each marker is numbered (1 up to 11 at max). The higher the number the darker the hue is and that has lesser alcohol. The lower numbers contain more alcohol. The blender is colourless, so it is 'pure' alcohol solution.

Als je met de blender over een andere kleur gaat, duw je letterlijk de kleur door het papier heen waardoor het aan de voorzijde minder zichtbaar is. Zo kun je ook mooi foutjes, zoals het kleuren buiten de lijnen, mee wegwerken. Hoewel je dan wel heel vaak over het foutje heen moet 'stempelen' met de blokpunt. Het leuke is dat je dit goed kunt doen als de kleur ook geheel is opgedroogd. If you colour with the blender on top of another colour, you litterally push the colour through the paper and make the colour less visible on the front site. This way you can make mistakes, like colouring outside the lines, go away. For this you have to stamp with the chisel nib on the mistake several times. The fun thing is you can do this eventhough the colouring is already dry.


Het geinige is dat ook de lichtste kleuren dit effect geven. Je kunt zo een lichte kleur op een donkere kleur 'leggen'. Dit kan werkt als het opgedroogd is én als het nog vochtig is.
In de proef met het wolkje heb ik eerst de 2 blauwen verzadigd over elkaar heen gekleurd en daarna in de wolk-vorm de lichtste ijsgrijze (IG1) erover heen gekleurd. Het effect is leuk: vaag-vlekkerige lichte wolk in een blauwe omgeving.
Ook met de Goud Bruine 6 (GB6) ben ik over andere kleuren heen gegaan. Deze licht-okerkleur drukt ook heel veel andere kleuren weg. Geinig om hier proefjes mee te doen!
Another fun thing is even the lightest colours of each group can do this effect. In this way you can lay a lighter colour on top of a darker one. This works on dry and on wet coloured parts.
In the test with the cloud I first coloured two blues saturated on top of each other.  After that I went over them  with  the lightest Ice Gray (IG1). The effect gives a vaguely spotted cloud in a blue surrounding.
I did the same with the Gold Brown 6 (GB6) on top of other bright colours. And on most of the colours it had the same effect. This yellow brown does press a lot of other colours through the paper. I think it's quite some fun to try this !

Na deze proefjes ben ik natuurlijk ook op kleurplaten en op een getanglede tekening gaan kleuren. Het overlopen van markers binnen eenzelfde kleurgroep of juist via andere kleurgroepen heb ik lekker uit zitten proberen.
Dat de kleuren door het papier heen 'lekken' bij meerdere lagen, zie je bij de linker scan van de monotangle Arukas. Ik had de volgende kleurplaten op het papier van het grote blok gelegd en ... de gebruikte blauw drukte dus goed door. After these tests I tried colouring on templates and on a tangled drawing, ofcourse. I freely practised the blending in one and between more colour groups. 
That colours are 'leaking' through paper when you apply more than one layer, you can see on the left scan of the monotangle Arukas. I used this paper underneath other sheets of paper during colouring and the used blue is to be seen on this paper. Sandra Strait makes good use of this effect making "Bleedthrumamades". Op Facebook zag ik in de loop van de afgelopen weken ook een groep waar het kleuren met alcohol markers wordt geoefend : Kit and Clowder. De Australische dame heeft een webshop waar je cursussen online kunt kopen en bekijken. Ze geeft dan ook advies voor de betere toepassing van alcohol markers zoals Spectrum Noir en Copic's.
Alcohol markers worden veel gebruikt bij het inkleuren van gestempelde afdrukken voor het maken van kaarten. Ik heb dus veel 'gratis' (oeps, dus illegale) digitale stempels (of ook wel kleine kleurplaten ;-) ) gedownload en ben op kopieerpapier gaan zitten tekenen. Elk plaatje heb ik op een kwart van een A4 afgedrukt, dus de grootte is een A6 (maximaal 10 x 15 cm). Het kleuren binnen de lijnen moet ik ook nog iets meer gaan oefenen. De technieken zijn geinig om het 'in het echíe' te bekijken.
During a couple of weeks I noticed on Facebook a group where colouring with alcohol markers is practised: Kit and Clowder. The Australian lady has a webshop where you can buy online courses. She gives advice for better use of alcohol markers like Spectrum Noir and Copics.
Alcohol markers are widely used for colouring stamped prints to make cards. Therefor I downloaded many 'free' (so illegal) digital stamps (or you can say small templates ;-) ) and started colouring on A4 copierpaper. Each picture I printed on a quarter of an A4, so the size is A6 (at max 10 x 15 cms). Colouring between the lines I have to practise too. The see the techniques in real life is fun to do.

Hier zie je mijn resultaten. Helaas heb ik geen echte huidskleur-markers dus ik heb de gezichten maar wit gelaten. Je snapt vast wel dat ik deze kleuren op mijn verlanglijst zet voor mijn verjaardag in januari ;-)
Here are a few of my results. Unfortunately I do not have real skin tone markers, so I left the faces white. You probably will get that I put these colours on my birthday list coming Januari ;-)

kleurrijke ZIA's met Gelly Rolls / colourfull ZIAs with Gelly Roll

Tsja, bij het aanvullen van mijn blog kom ik nog een stukje bericht tegen wat nog afgemaakt moest worden: bij deze!

Well, during filling my blog with recent material I found something what had to be finished once: Here it is!

In de kerstvakantie van 2013 heb ik een set van 64 Gelly Rolls van Sakura besteld en binnen gekregen. Die moest ik natuurlijk uitproberen!

Wat erin zit: Klassieke gelpennen, Metallic, Moonlight, Stardust en Zilver en Goud-schaduw kleur pennen. Op wit en op zwart papier heb ik de kleuren verdeeld in een kleurencirkel (eh, ongeveer cirkel ;-) ). Helaas heb ik geen blacklight bij de hand, anders had je nog kunnen zien dat enkele van de Moonlight gelpennen oplichten als je het daarmee beschijnt. In the Christmas holidays of 2013 I ordered a set of 64 Sakura Gelly Rolls. I had to try these when they arrived!

What's inside: Classic Gelpens, Metallic, Moonlight, Stardust and Silver and Gold Shadow colour gel pens. On white and black paper I divided the colours in the colourwheel (eh, sort of circle ;-) ). Unfortunately I don't have a blacklight, otherwise I could have shown you that some of the Moonlight Gelpens gave their own shine as a reaction to that. 

Daarna lekker zitten combineren met mijn Spectrum Noir alcoholmarkers op een aquarel tekenblok (A3). Ik heb de markers verdeeld in blauwe tinten en rode tinten en maakte daarvan 2 'vlekken'. Daarna heerlijk uitgeprobeerd met soortgelijke tinten in Gelly Rolls. Na een middagje tekenen zo was ik weer heeerlijk ontspannen en mijn koppijn wat gezakt.

After this I combined my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers with it on aquarel drawing paper (A3). I divided the markers in blue hues and red hues and made with these 2 'spots'. Then I tried the same hues of the Gelly Rolls on it. After this afternoon filled with drawing I was relaaaxed and my headache had become less.

Heh dat was lekker tanglen toen. Love that tangling effect.

Stempelen met Zentangle / Stamps with Zentangle

In de kerstvakantie wilde ik met 2 van onze kinderen weer eens stempelen. Ik nam 'natuurlijk' de stempels van http://elefantangle.blogspot.nl/2013/03/stempel-stappen-stamps-steps-2.html erbij. Naast op wit papier te stempelen bedacht ik me dat het vast ook wel een apart effect zou zijn als ik op gekleurd papier zou werken. Zo gezegd, zo gedaan. Dit werden vrolijke prints. Op de foto zie je al het gestempelde materiaal naast elkaar gelegd op onze vloer.

In the Christmas hollidays I wanted to stamp with 2 of our kids. Of course I took the stamps of  http://elefantangle.blogspot.nl/2013/03/stempel-stappen-stamps-steps-2.html for this. Next to making prints on white paper I thought it would be a nice effect when I use the stamps on coloured paper. And I did. These became happy coloured prints. In the picture you see them laying next to each other on the floor spreaded.

Naast het stempelen met de Big&Juicy en een ander merk kleurige stempelkussens, met zwarte en bruine watervaste inkt, bedacht ik me dat ik de stempels ook vast wel in kon kleuren met een viltstift. Dit werden mijn Spectrum Noir alcoholmarkers. Zo kon ik ook meerkleuren-afdrukken maken :-) én delen wit laten. Next to stamping using my Big&Juicy, some other brand with different colour stamp pads, my waterproof brown and black stamp pads, I thought it would be nice too if I coloured the stamps with feltpens. Instead of felt pens I took my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. So I could make Multi coloured prints too :-) ánd leave parts white.

Het is ondertussen een week geleden dat we gestempeld hebben en ik heb ondertussen 2 afdrukken ingekleurd en getangled. Hiervoor heb ik mijn nieuwe uitgebreide set Gelly Roll gelpennen van Sakura voor gebruikt. Wat een diverse set pennen is dat! Met en zonder glitter, maan'bleke' kleuren, Metallic en ook gouden en zilveren gelpennen met een gekleurde rand. Deze laatste worden "Schaduw" gelpennen genoemd. Vergroot de foto hier rechts door erop te klikken. Ik hoop dat ook dit laatste zichtbaar zal zijn. It is a week ago since we stamped and I tangled and coloured now 2 prints. For this I used my extended set of Gelly Roll gelpens of Sakura.. What a diversity it has! With and without sparkles, pale Moonlight colours, Metallic and also golden and silver gelpens with a coloured edge. These last ones are called 'Shadow' pens. Enlarge the picture with the pens. I hope the last ones I mentioned are to be seen.

Ik koos eerst voor een zalmkleurig blad met een stempelafdruk. Op de vloerfoto midden boven. Eerst tanglede ik Atorm met de bruine Micron 005. Daarna Bumps met roze en oranje Micron 01. Daarna tekende ik met de sepia Micron 01 de tangle Beads. De Bumps heb ik verder ingekleurd met roze en oranje kleurpotloden van Bruynzeel. De Beadlines in het midden heb ik in vakjes om en om ingekleurd met een huidskleurige kleurpotlood en aan weerszijden van de Beadlines lijnen heb ik met bruine kleurpotlood en witte krijtpotlood een schaduwrand en highlight te geven. First I  chose a salmon coloured page with a stamp print. On the 'floor' picture found top middle. First I tangled Atorm with the Brown Micron 005. After that I tangled Bumps with pink and orange Micron 01. Last came Beadlines with the sepia Micron 01. The Bumps I coloured with pink and orange colourpencils of Bruynzeel. The Beads I coloured on both sides of the lines of Beadlines with brown on one side and white on the other side of the line. Brown for the shade and white for a highlight.

De tweede stempelafdruk die ik koos, was het blauwe blad met zwarte stempelafdruk. Ik had knallende koppijn door een lichte vorm van voorhoofdsontsteking. Ik begon met de witte klassieke gelpen van Gelly Roll en een bleke groen van Sakura's Gelly Roll Moonlight. Kelley Kelly had een nieuw patroon Batumber ontwikkeld en die wilde ik wel uitproberen. Ik begon het patroon met de witte en de vormen die het patroon vulde deed ik met de bleek-groene. The second print I chose, was the bright blue paper with black ink-print. I was suffering from a severe headache because of a minor forehead cavity inflammation. I started with a white Classic Gelly Roll and the pale green Moonlight Gelly Roll of Sakura. Kelley Kelly developed a new tangle called Batumber and I wanted to try that. I started the pattern with white bonds and filled it with pale green oval shapes.

De volgende dag ging ik verder en pakte de zwarte Metallic en maakte het patroon Bellaposa uit het boek "Yoga for the Brain" van Sandy Steen Bartholomew Steen - veruit mijn favoriete tangle boek (!!!) - in de overgebleven langwerpige vakjes. De buitenste lege vakjes vulde ik met delen van hetzelfde patroon. De banden van Batumber lichtte ik op met het witte krijtpotlood en de vullingen kleurde ik in met een donkergroen potlood van Bruynzeel. Op de foto links zie je de patronen niet zo best, maar op de scan rechts zijn alle patronen heel goed te zien.

Next day I went on an took my black Metallic Gelly Roll and in the stretched spaces I  made the tangle Bellaposa from Sandy Steen Bartholomers's Yoga for the Brain - my favourite tangle book (!!!). The remaining areas on the outside  filled with parts of the same pattern. The bonds of Batumber I made it lighter with my white charcoal pencil and the Batumber oval shapes I darkened with a dark green pencil of Bruynzeel. On the picture at the left side you cannot see the tangles that good, you can see them better on the scan on the right side.



Mijn hoofdpijn is de loop van de dagen gezakt, mijn verhoging zakt langzaam. Als ik door mag tekenen, zal ook dat vast wel beter gaan worden. My headache is getting less severe now in the couple of days, my temperature is slowly getting more to normal. As long I can draw the next few days, that'll  get better too.

ARTSpecially Stamp Event 2013, creatief -1

Pfoei, het was heeeel erg gezellig druk, zonder gedrang. Heel erg geslaagd en we mogen volgend jaar terugkomen! Ik kom in elk geval héél graag weer.
Pfew, it was veeeeery busy in a good way, no elbow-work to get somewhere. I think it was very good and we were invited to come back next year! I love to go again.

We hadden een flinke lange tafel bij de hoek van een pad met stands. Maria Vennekens (Zentangle.eu) had een workshoptafel á la Make & Take ingericht waar wij 6 plekjes hadden om mensen te laten genieten van het tekenen van Zentangle bij een stempel en het 7e plekje zouden wij gaan zitten om aan de tafel uitleg te kunnen geven.
We were placed on a large table next to the corner of a path with stands. Maria Vennekens (Zentangle.eu) installed a workshop table for Make & Take where 6 people could sit and enjoy drawing a Zentangle and the 7th spot we could sit and show the tangles by drawing them.



De bezoekers konden kiezen uit een aantal voorgestempelde kaartjes. Rondom de stempel van hun keus kregen ze op de Zentangle-methode 4 patronen uitgelegd om daaromheen te tanglelen. Eén van die stempels waar ze uit konden kiezen zat ook in het 'beurs'-tasje, wat iedere bezoeker meekreeg.
The visitors first had to make a choice between several pre-stamped cards. Around the stamp of their choice we showed 4 tangles according to the Zentangle-method placing the patterns around the printed stamp. One of the stamps was a gift of the Event in the goodie-bags each visitor got at the entrance.

Na enkele uurtjes hebben wij ons 7e plekje ook aan de enthousiaste stempelaars afgestaan, zodat die konden tekenen en wij dan staand onze uitleg gingen geven. Helaas heb ik nog niet de beschikking over foto's die afgelopen weekend gemaakt zijn, maar ik kan je vertellen : zaterdag was het vanaf 11u tot 18u continue bezet en zondag van 10u30 tot 17u00. We hadden dus de hele dag een volle tafel. Wij genoten van de vele enthousiaste reakties en de herkenbare "hé, ik wordt er rustig van"-effecten. Missie geslaagd, dus.
After the very first hours we gave up our 7th seat in favour of  the enthousiastic stampers , so they could be seated and we went on standing showing and helping them. Unfortunately I do not have the pictures of last weekend yet, but I can tell you: saturday our table was filled from 11u00 up to 18u00 (closing of the event) and sunday's this was from 10u30 up to 17u00 (closing of the event). We were 'fully booked' all day. We enjoyed hearing the many enthousiastic responses and the familiar "hey, it calmes me down"-effects. So, mission accomplished!

Onze buurvrouw Monique Jongejan (van webwinkel HappyStamp.nl) en haar zoon Rimon waren ook erg enthousiast door onze tekenmethode en ik kreeg zondag een setje alcohol markers van Spectrum Noir te leen om twee van haar stempel-afdrukken: een eendje met bellenblaasbellen en een beertje met een zonnebloem te verwerken tot mooie kaarten. 
Ik heb eerst een kleurenschema gemaakt met de alcoholmarkers want ik zag dat er geen groen bij zat en die kleur wilde ik wel gebruiken bij de kaart met het eendje (die Monique op haar blogspot zal zetten: http://happystampm.blogspot.nl/). 
Our neighbour Monique Jongejan (of webshop HappyStamp.nl) and her son Rimon were very enthousiastic too about our drawing method and sunday I was asked to tangle around two stamp-prints of her and make cards of those: a duckling who is blowing bubbles and a bear with a sunflower. She lend me a set of six Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
I first made a color scheme, because I saw green was missing and I wanted to use that color on the card with the duckling ( which Monique will put on her blog: http://happystampm.blogspot.nl).

Ik heb eerst de stempel met eend en beer met een 3D-schaartje uitgeknipt met een 'aura' wit (dus een wit-ruimte) om de stempelafdruk. Ik heb daarna het eendje geplakt op een grasgroene achtergrond en het beertje op een oranje. Toen heb ik beide ook weer (met 'wit'ruimte) uitgeknipt en op een stempelkaart geplakt.

Ik ben daarna begonnen met tanglen rondom het eendje, de bellen in de lucht benadrukt met meer bellen (Quipple) (later de lucht tussen de bellen met blauw gekleurd). Het eendje 'zette' ik 'neer' op een grasgroene (eerst blauw gekleurd en geel daaroverheen) ondergrond en de middenruimte langs de rand voorzien van een gezellige schelpenrand (tangle Shiraz) (met beige ingekleurd). 
I first cut the both stamp prints with a tiny scissors (for 3D-cutting) and left an aura (white space) around the prints. After that I glued the duckling on a grass green craft paper and the bear on a orange. Then again I cut both prints (plus colored background) with an aura ('white' space) and glued it on a stamp card.
I started to tangle around the duckling, bubbles in the air I emphesized with more bubbles (Quipple) (after tangling I colored the 'air' between the bubbles blue). I put the duckling on a grass green (first colored with blue with a second layer of yellow) floor and the section half way I tangled Shiraz (shell - pattern) (I colored it beige).

Bij het inkleuren werd ik me pas bewust dat alcolhol markers doordrukken. Ik had eerder al gezien dat Sandra Strait aka Molosseus 'bleed through'-werk maakte en nu zag ik dat dat niet eens zo lastig was toe te passen. Daar zal ik vast ook weleens iets mee gaan doen. Oké, terug naar de stempelbeurs.
It was during coloring I became aware that alcohol markers bleed through. I had seen that effect earlier in Sandra Strait's aka Molosseus 'bleed through' work and now I noticed it wasn't that difficult making that. I will probably use that effect making new work. Well, return to the stamp event.

Ik had ook een blender te leen gekregen. Een blender neemt de alcohol-marker-inkt op en maakt het ingekleurde deel een fractie lichter, terwijl de blender bij aquamarkers de inkt verspreidt over een groter oppervlak en het daar vager achterlaat. Net zoals het uitvagen met je vinger of met een doezelaar in de in Zentangle gebruikte potlood-schaduw-werk.
I also got the use of a blender. The blender sucks a tiny bit of alcohol marker ink and makes the colored part a fraction lighter, while a aquamarkers blender spreads the aquamarker ink on a bigger surface making it blurred and lighter there. Just like blurring the pencil shadows in Zentangle with a finger or tortillion.

Verderop op zondag kreeg ik ruimte om ook met de berenstempel wat te maken. Het lukte me niet om die kaart verder af te maken, dus aan het eind van de beurs heb ik mezelf getracteerd op een 24 markerset van Spectrum Noir (én een blender) voor thuis.
Sunday in the afternoon I got more time to make a card of the bear stamp. Unfortunately I could not finish this card, so on the end of the event I bought myself a 24 pc marker set of Spectrum Noir (including a blender) to use at home.

Vandaag heb ik de berenkaart afgemaakt met mijn Brights Set-Spectrum Noir-alcohol markers. Ik vind het erg vrolijk geworden en jullie?
Today I finished the card with the bear with my Brights Set Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I think it's a happy-feeling-car. What do you think?
